With more than 40 years in the industry, Matlane's founders have built their careers across trading, production, and distribution — experience that today underpins an integrated group spanning the full steel value chain. That foundation has grown into direct, long-standing relationships with mills and producers across China, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria, giving the group reliable access to international supply even as market conditions shift.

Steel House, the group's local trading arm, works directly with construction and industrial companies across Egypt, supplying the raw materials — rebar, billets, wire rod, and coils — that keep their projects moving. Complementing this trading base, the group added a steel-scrap distribution unit that has supplied the Egyptian market for close to a decade, feeding Electric Arc Furnace mills with both locally sourced and internationally procured ferrous scrap.

On the production side, Matlane is a shareholder in Arabian Steel Industries, a rolling mill in the Suez Canal Economic Zone with a production capacity of 500,000 metric tons of rebar per year — a stake that moved the group from pure trading into manufacturing, and one it continues to build on through further investment upstream. And to extend the group's reach beyond Egypt, Matlane Global Investments was established in Dubai to consolidate the group's investments and take part in international commodity trading — bringing the same relationships and expertise that built the domestic business to a wider, global stage.
